Steak

Pan Seared In A Cast Iron Skillet

Ingredients

• 1 -28 to 38 ounce Porterhouse steak

• Lime juice

• No salt steak seasoning or seasoning of your choice

• 2 tablespoons fine ground pepper

• 5 tablespoons butter

• 2 garlic cloves

• Herbs de Provence (thyme, rosemary, savory, marjoram, and oregano)

• 2 tablespoons avocado oil

Instructions

1. Rub both sides of the steak with lime juice and a seasoning of your choice.

2. Coat the outside edges with the pepper. Cover the steak and place in the fridge for 1 hour.

3. After an hour take the steak from the fridge and let warm to room temperature. (70 degrees F) Don’t rush this process or the steak won’t cook evenly.

4. Add a tablespoon of butter and avocado oil to a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. When the butter and oil begins to brown, add the steak to the skillet. Cook for 4 minutes then flip and cook an additional 4 minutes.

5. Turn the steak over and place 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet.

6. Continue to cook basting the steak with the melted butter constantly.

7. Remove the steak from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes.
